Julie Beck was born and raised in Western Upstate New York in a small town on the Erie Canal. The rural landscapes and rust belt towns she grew up in remain the inspiration for much of her work. In 1998, she moved to Rhode Island to attend Roger Williams University, where she received a Bachelors degree in Mathematics.

Currently, Julie lives in a ridiculously small house on the West Bay of Rhode Island. Her supportive husband Timothy has accepted the fact that, at some point, everything they own will have paint on it... including their dog, Zoey.

Julie has been painting for over 7 years and works primarily in acrylics, often with vintage paper ephemera. Her work is also in private collections throughout the U.S., Canada, Germany, France, Lithuana, Finland and Australia.
